The Black Equity Collective is building a movement for lasting change. There are several ways to be a part of the BEC community.
Whether you are a funder, nonprofit leader, community organizer, or ally, your participation strengthens the collective power of the BEC network. Together, we are reimagining philanthropy and building civic infrastructure for Black Permanency® to endure.
Is your organization Black-serving and Black-empowering, but not Black-led? Or does your organization operate outside of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, or Riverside County? If so, we invite you to submit your interest in joining BEC’s ally tier membership.
Ally membership is by invitation only and is thoughtfully extended to organizations that have demonstrated a sustained commitment to advancing Black communities and Black equity. Organizations whose infrastructure is already well-established and would not meaningfully benefit from the Black Equity Collective’s capacity-building programming, but whose values and work closely align with BEC’s mission, may also be considered for Ally membership.
The BEC team periodically reviews prospective partners for alignment with our mission, values, and membership criteria. Invited Allies may participate in select BEC programming and, in some cases, may be eligible for designated grantmaking opportunities.
Do you provide a program or service that aligns with BEC’s priorities? Are you interested in supporting or advancing BEC’s work? We’d love to hear from you! Program partners are carefully reviewed on a case-by-case basis for values and needs alignment.
The Black Equity Collective has created a learning space for funders designed to interrogate existing practices and introduce pro-Black, liberatory habits into organizational culture and shift toward new philanthropic practices and language.
