Black Equity Collective seeks to fundamentally change the relationship between philanthropy and the Black community.

Traditionally, funders have focused on “capacity building” in nonprofits while ignoring their own needs to build cultural and relational capacity with BLOs. Like trust, capacity is bi-directional. BEC invites funders and donors to deepen practices that shift from transactional giving to transformative partnership, community co-design and power-sharing. We offer dedicated space for funders to build community and a shared identity as champions for Black Permanency®.
