Tools for the Field
By listening to the needs of Black nonprofit leaders, BEC pioneers innovative tools designed to build a better field of practice in philanthropy.

Participatory Fiscal Sponsorship
The only national equity-centered training and certification program for formal and informal fiscal sponsors. Participatory fiscal sponsorship embeds the Principles for Black Equity as a training praxis for sponsors seeking to provide values-aligned services to BLOs.
Redefining Effective Organizations Evaluation Framework
How do you measure TRUTH? Does LOVE have metrics? Organizational effectiveness is often defined by limited standards like revenue and board governance that don’t fully account for what makes an organization effective in their community. BEC convened a group of funders and BLO executive leadership to design and launch a new evaluation framework to redefine “effectiveness” using the Principles of Black Equity – Truth, Strength, Love, and Strategic Disruption.
