Policy & Advocacy
Shaping Policy for Black Permanency®
BEC's Policy & Advocacy work centers on civic engagement, ensuring Black-led organizations are not only heard, but positioned as decision-makers and thought leaders in the policy spaces that shape their communities.

Our Approach
BEC's approach is rooted in the belief that lasting policy change begins with informed and organized communities. Through civic engagement, policy advocacy, leadership development, and strategic partnerships, we support and position Black-led organizations as decision-makers, trusted thought leaders, and advocates for systemic change. Our work is guided by the principles of self-determination, collective power, and Black Permanency®.

Policy & Advocacy Key Elements
- People: Members are the foundation.
- Process: Community priorities translated into policy action.
- Priorities: Focus collective effort where it matters most.
- Power: Build lasting influence through civic engagement and collective action.
Our approach is simple: People define the priorities, process turns ideas into action, and collective power creates lasting policy change.
